Subject:
Deferral of Planning Application 23/4152M at Poynton Pool

Message:
I am a local resident who is very concerned about the planning application for Poynton Pool and the lack of progress regarding the deferral.

I understand that it is now three months since the Strategic Planning Board (SPB) met on 24 April 2024 when a decision was made to defer this planning application. The deferral asked for further information on inaccuracies in the submitted data and engagement with third parties including Friends of Poynton Pool and Poynton Town Council.

The SPB proposed a meeting between the technical representatives of Cheshire East Council and the technical representatives of Friends of Poynton Pool, and that if necessary a third-party arbiter should be involved.

Friends of Poynton Pool submitted a list of inaccuracies on 30 May, as have Poynton Town Council, as requested by the planning case officer. Despite this, the meeting to engage with third parties still hasn’t been arranged.

I am very concerned that three months have passed and this vitally important meeting is yet to be arranged.

Friends of Poynton Pool are acting on behalf of the local community and this meeting is an opportunity for their technical experts to put forward our concerns regarding the inaccuracies in this planning application and explain the alternative solutions they have developed.

Please can you provide me with an update on when this meeting will take place or an explanation as to why it has not been arranged.

Thank you
